Finally … someone actually going on a roadtrip with no predetermined destination and they’re willing to report back. Let’s see what redheadDC has to say after this weekend. I want stories and pictures!

43 Things Entry of the Day

2657 people want to go on a road trip with no predetermined destination

the journey begins, an entry by
redheadDC:

tomorrow. At which point I hope to have enough $ to eat as much greasy diner food as I can bear as I meander through S. Jersey with the wonderful boy in tow. I have tank tops and baggy pants for the road- and a new faux tan thanks to Jergens Gentle Glow. Who said fake isn’t beautiful? Not this girl.

It’s now almost 2 am and I absolutely must go to bed or crawling to the office in the morning to wrap up a mini-project or two before the Honda pulls up front will be an impossible journey. Also, must remember to make a mix CD or five for the road in the a.m. Ben has a CD burner but no idea how to use it. And I have a jillion music files waiting to bless the road ahead. I promise a recap on my return. Send positive road karma our way, angels of the highway!

Here I am- back on planet earth… I’ll be posting pictures and adventures once I’m done unpacking, but in the meantime, here’s my early return entry on my 43things!

    I’m back from the road!

Ben and I headed north from DC on Friday and went bobbing up and around through NJ, Delaware, and all points in the area. The first stop was at Cowtown Rodeo in South Jersey where we checked out the spurs, western wear, rodeo tickets, and giant belt buckles. We headed from there to the Golden Pigeon diner where I ate greasy, but yummy fried mushrooms stuffed with crab. Then it was down to the coast, a room at the Simpson’s Motel in Wildwood and bourbons at Menz Seafood. Ben boldly asked the frosted-haired Jersey cocktail waitress for directions to the nearest gay bar… it turns out her aunt is a lesbian and she directs us to Cape May. I’ll be telling the full tale on my blog later at http://www.eleanorstrousers.blogspot.com. The trip was rejuvenating, Ben was wonderful and smelled of biscuits as always, and as always happens after our trips, it is now time to reconsider some the choices I’ve made in life. I need to change directions again, and go somewhere with my life with “no predetermined destination.”

Nice stuff. I’m looking forward to the full report. Any details about the “no predetermined destination” bit would be most appreciated.
