We are looking for an accomplished software developer to develop a platform for passionate people. We are creating a powerful object oriented platform that spans a wide array of functionality in areas such as databases, social networking, and web services. As a senior software developer you will architect entire systems as well as design and implement object oriented APIs that will enable our website and third-party developers to quickly create full-featured applications for our platform.

Required skills and areas of knowledge:

  • You should be excited about the web and the way it is changing how we live
  • You have experience building large, distributed, scalable systems with fairly complex computational challenges
  • BS/BA in computer science, electrical engineering or math
  • 5+ years of software development experience in C, C++, Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Experience with Unix or Linux operating system
  • Experience with relational database design and SQL experience
  • Strong object oriented programming and design skills
  • Several years experience with dynamically created web pages using languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby

Desired skills:

  • Experience with shipping multiple products to market and knowledge of all stages of product life cycle from first concept to post release
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and ill-defined problems
  • Experience managing the software development decisions made by a team of software developers
  • Familiar with blogs, social software, RSS, web services, and XML
  • Must work and communicate well with groups through email, design documentation and technical presentations
  • Strong desire to participate in product idea and feature development

We are creating a powerful object oriented platform for our site and web services that span a wide array of functionality in areas such as databases, social networking, and transactional services. As a System Network Operations Engineer you will design and support entire systems that will enable our website and third-party developers to quickly create full-featured applications for our platform.

Required skills and areas of knowledge:

  • Experience supporting large, distributed, scalable systems.
  • BS/BA in computer engineering or significant industry experience
  • 3+ years of systems administration, network development and operations experience
  • Unix or Linux operating system experience.
  • Relational database and SQL experience.
  • Experience with Apache web server.

Desired skills:

  • Familiar with blogs, social software, RSS, web services, and XML.
  • Knowledge of the hosting business and experience working with vendors
  • Experience with bug tracking and trouble ticket systems
